Known as one of the most skilled swordsman ever to have graced the earth, Miyamoto Musashi stands out not only by his fighting capabilities but by his confidence, self assurance and practical philosophy found in his „The Book of Five Rings“. Born in conflict struck feudal Japan his life of violence started early and led him on a path of mastering swordsmanship and other fighting techniques. From his first duel at the age of thirteen he is believed never to have lost a single one in his life. At later stages, after a personal revelation, Musashi gave up on violence but continued training with weapons which culminated in writing one of the most profound books on strategy and philosophy of life.
